Got up nice and early for a run of High Point/Hawk’s Nest.
Most of you Tri-State oppos probably already know or have been there, it’s a great ride. Super foggy in the morning, clearing out to a nice sunny day. The farm roads leading up to it are fantastic as well.

As a tri-state Oppo, I had NO idea this existed and was just camping in Barryville a month ago . I guess I usually see Ospreys near the beach. That looks like a great route, is that the one you would suggest doing?

You were right on top of it! If you go down 97 from Barryville that’s what people refer to as the Hawks Nest. There’s a famous stretch of road it’s known for :
The whole way is not that intense, but still beautiful and with nice curves, and you get great glimpses of the Delaware as you go. Below Port Jervis is Rt23 going past High Point state park. Also beautiful with nice sweepers, going uphill up to High Point, and downhill fr om there. These are the main 2 sections I’d say. The roads south of 23 in that image are farm roads, so they’re a little more populated, but there are great old barns, and the roads have plenty of twists and elevation changes.
Where did you camp in Barryville? That might be my perfect autumn long weekend trip .

I do recognize some of the roads, problem was I never was the one driving nor did we have a fun car, just cars loaded up with camping gear and beer. Next time!
We stayed at the top of Kittat inny campground (right off 97) . It’s a private campground so expect some noise/drunkards although do n’t know if it is like that in the fall . Nice thing is you can camp there and also do river raft tours from the base of the campground. Which, now that I’m reminiscing , you can see bald eagles hunt in the river while you’re rafting down it!

Probably about 2 hours sounds about right. Id take a longer route though and get to 611 in PA and then head North through the gap and then hit some roads in the Poconos until eventually ending up in Hawks nest. Even better roads though that are closer around the Blue Mountain ski area like an hour north of you.

Definitely the best roads in the area between the Poconos, hawks nest, and Bear Mountain. Doesnt get much better until you head south to the Blue Ridge Mountains pretty much. While I now have some amazing roads out here in Socal, I do kind of miss the roads/views in the fall in the Smokey Mountains down in VA/NC/TN.

Perfect period correct wheels, yellow foglights... that’s a sweeet ride.
We might have different opinions on the black kidneys, but why not?

Thank you kind sir! The black kidneys were from a previous owner. Not sure I would have put the kidneys on myself, but now that they’re there, I like ‘em.

That one is schwarz. But after buying it and parking it next to my 90 schwarz I realized it had been resprayed. Discovered some body work after a few washes too.
Second pic is my 90 you can see how much better the paint looks. It's rusted to hell which is why I bought the 89. But I just put the 89 up for sale cause I need a garage.
